KAKRAO CHILDREN HOPE HOME
This Home, where needy children are cared for found in Kakrao. Kakrao is a rural area with a population of a bout 20,000 people. This population is relatively high as compared to the geographical coverage. Poverty rate is heavy in this village because of unemployment and low level of education. Ancient cultural practices still dominate in the community in this area.
The Kakrao Children Hope Home basically was started as a rescue centre for orphans, neglected and needy children in this community. Currently we have 252 children in the Home.
These children are orphans, partial orphans, needy children whose needs are not met in their families due to high level of poverty ,social problems and cultural beliefs and practices i.e. Children born out of wedlock are not given equal rights in some communities in Kenya.

THE BUDGET FOR CLOTHES

The above chart will be helpful in deciding the sizes.
Currently we are in great need of clothes. 50,000 Kenya shillings [684USD] can help us to give each child a suit (Total Number of children is 252).
SHELTER
Children need to have proper shelter. This will help them share common interest which is very important for moral upbringing. We need total of 63000 Kenya shillings to set up two good houses for the children.
SANITARY TOWELS AND MEDICATION
The sanitary towels are being supplied every two months at a cost of 3500 KSH and medical services are offered at a cost of 3000 KSH for two months.

1. Monthly needs 217USD for food, 45USD for sanitary towels and medication.
2. Cloths for all 252 children – second had cloths – if provided by donors free or
an year’s need to provide a new suit for each child 684USD
